Mike Agee (1966-1967)
Mike Agee was playing semi-pro football in the Washington area when he took over the Georgetown club program in 1966.
Agee grew up in the Washington area, playing football at Alexandria's George Washington HS before earning a scholarship to Washington State in 1955. After college and military service, he returned to the Washington area to work as an investment broker, with three seasons as a defensive back for the Virginia Sailors of the Atlantic Coast Football League, playing alongside future Georgetown assistants Dan Droze and Tom Folliard.
The limited nature of Georgetown's club team allowed Agee to pursue both the college job as well as a semi-pro coach, having been elevated to assistant coach for the Sailors in 1967. With Georgetown games at day and Sailors games at night, Agee was a busy coach to and from games.
Mike Agee resigned both positions after the 1967 season to start a business in California. He was killed in an auto accident outside Palm Springs, CA at the age of 51.
